Sydney developer Winim Developments has puts its foot on a site in a NSW a beachside town for a “transformative” hotel project.
The developer has acquired 105-107 Fern Street at Gerringong and has now filed a development application with the Kiama Municipal Council.
If approved, the site will be home to what Winim calls a “visionary” mixed-use development it hopes will enhance the Gerringong town centre.
The four-storey complex would include retail and residential spaces as well as the hotel.
Designed by Derive Architects, the development includes three residential penthouses with ocean views
The 43-key hotel will offer “premium” accommodation for residents and visitors, as well as a pool, and a new food and beverage offering.
The development will cost $16 million, according to Winim.
Gerringong, 120km south of Sydney, has been identified as a million-dollar suburb and has attracted high-end residential development.
Winim has been quick to indentify suburbs and areas of growth—this year it highlighted Newcastle as a place to watch, having acquired the Newcastle Beach Hotel last year.
The developer has also remained strong on its home turf, securing approval for its apartment and townhouse complex in Northbridge this year, as well as filing adaptive reuse plans at Neutral Bay.
