Your Voice Needed for Construction Industry Survey

Since 2009, BCI has been conducting independent surveys among thousands of construction industry stakeholders to find out their perception of the construction market and gauge their views on significant issues shaping the industry.

This year’s Sentiment Survey gives owners, developers, architects, designers, consultants and builders the opportunity to comment on the challenges in today’s market—from the cost and availability of products and labour, to specification trends and delays in construction.

The survey also addresses sustainability efforts, government initiatives to support construction activity, and the key focus of businesses over the next 12 months.

The insights gained from the Sentiment Survey form a critical part of the Construction Outlook report, with observations and conclusions drawn from BCI’s project database, and analysis of official statistics and economic data.

Construction is an inextricable part of the Australian market, both impacted by and impacting the economic direction of the country, BCI Central chief research and data officer Michelle Aizenberg said.

“BCI’s first Construction Outlook was released in the wake of the GFC, with the aim of providing key information at a critical time.
"Nearly 15 years later, the industry is facing a very different set of challenges head on,” Aizenberg said.

The Construction Outlook report offers insights into how important segments of the construction market are performing, from an Australian national perspective and on a state level.

Including a review of construction market activity in 2022, market trends and forecasts, the report provides tangible information for decision-makers to act on.

Aizenberg said, “BCI digs deep to combine empirical data and the Sentiment Survey’s stakeholder insights in an accurate and actionable report, from the industry, for the industry.”

Have your say: Take the Sentiment Survey to receive a free copy of the report in late 2022, valued at $299.
