The Urban Developer is thrilled to host developer Iwan Sunito as a keynote speaker at Urbanity ’18.

Iwan Sunito, co-founder and chief executive officer of Crown Group, will be sitting down with fellow developer Soheil Abedian (Sunland Group) in a moderated conversation with founder of The Urban Developer Adam Di Marco.

Iwan Sunito and his business partner, Paul Sathio, started Crown Group in 1994 as a boutique property development company in Sydney.

Crown Group has since become one of the largest, privately-owned property developers in Australia, with a multi-billion-dollar residential portfolio as well as burgeoning commercial and hospitality portfolios.

Crown Group is now active in all stages of property development, providing planning, design, construction management, sales and after-sales support services.

Iwan Sunito, like his co-panelist, Soheil Abedian, began his career in architecture. He holds degrees in both architecture and construction management from the University of New South Wales (UNSW).

Prior to becoming a licensed architect in 1993, Sunito was awarded the UNSW’s Eric Daniels Prize for his excellence in designing residential accommodations.

In 2015, Iwan Sunito became the youngest recipient of Urban Taskforce Australia’s Property Person of the Year award.

"Mastery" is the latest addition to Crown Group’s five-building urban renewal project in Waterloo.

The 19-storey tower will accommodate 384 apartments, as well as several restaurants and retail spaces, set against a backdrop of plant-lined terraces.

Mastery was designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, in collaboration with the award-winning Australian architecture firm Koichi Takada Architects.

Infinity

"Infinity" is located minutes from the Green Square railway station.

The curvaceous ground level wraps around itself to form a public plaza, providing access to two stories of high-end retail space. Above, 18 stories of apartments are topped with manicured roof gardens.

Infinity was also designed by Koichi Takada Architects, marking the fourth collaboration between the Crown Group and the architecture firm.

Eastlakes Live

The FJMT-designed Eastlakes Live is the Crown Group's $1 billion urban revitalisation of the Eastlakes Local Town Centre.

Eastlakes Live is Crown Group’s largest development to date, the result of a $1 billion investment by the company.

Phase 1 is expected to open in 2021 and will comprise 134 luxury apartments, 12 retail spaces, landscaped parks and an assortment of resort-style amenities.

Eastlakes Live was designed by Sydney-based architects Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp (FJMT), a multi-disciplinary design studio specialising in architecture and urban planning.
