Harvey Norman Commercial Smart Technologies have partnered with Coronation, MN Builders and Summer Housing to deliver high physical support and fully accessible apartments under the NDIS at The Foundry in Liverpool.
The single-level apartments have been designed in accordance with platinum-level certification under Liveable Housing Design Guidelines. They also meet the High Physical Support or Fully Accessible design requirements under the NDIS.
“We at Harvey Norman Commercial pride ourselves in being experts in the field of assistive technology and have previously worked alongside Summer Housing in a multitude of collaborative projects including Kirrawee, Westmead, Sydney Olympic Park and Hornsby, all to great success and resulting in a continued partnership to provide the best we possibly can in the NDIS space,” a spokesperson said.
Each apartment features customisable bathrooms, laundries, kitchens with wheelchair accessible private outdoor areas.
In cases of urgency there are localised smart communication systems between tenants and on-site support concierge in a separate apartment in the building available around the clock.
As a standard inclusion, Harvey Norman Commercial provides the assistive technology that is specifically designed and programmed for SDA housing such as The Foundry which includes motorised apartment entry doors, lighting control, voice control, nurse call communication technologies, uninterrupted power supply (back-ups meet and exceed the already high standards in the NDIS SDA).
“In recent trying times, it is important to consider limiting the possibility of infection, with implementation of smart home automation, pre-programmed functions can be set up to control multiple devices at one time, meaning less physical contact,” the spokesperson said.
“With technology like voice activation and app control, residents and guests do not need to touch any device at any time. Less contact inherently brings lower risk of infection, for residents and for those caring or visiting often.”
“The development of voice control linking smart home to carer enabled devices like nurse call systems has given residents of NDIS specialist accommodation an additional layer of security with the ability to verbally call for help from the onsite concierge via their included smart automation if they are unable to access their wall alert buttons or wearable pendants.”
Location is always key to SDA housing and Summer Housing have not disappointed with this project.
The development is near the Georges River and retail centre the Papermill Precinct, offering an array of restaurants and cafes accessible directly, making the dream of independent living a reality for many of the future residents.
Harvey Norman Smart Tec customer service teams are ready and available (during work hours) to assist tenants or concierge with any assistive technology systems queries.
