Mosaic Property Group has filed plans for its latest residential project, an eight-storey, 81-apartment tower in East Brisbane.

The site at 89 Lytton Road was previously home to the East Brisbane Shopping Centre, occupying both corner lots at one end of a block bordered by Northcote Street, Heidelberg Street and Lytton Road.

The DKO Architects-designed plans show 55 two-bedroom and 26 three-bedroom apartments.

The project also includes a wellness centre and gym on the ground floor plus a rooftop pool and sun deck.

The plans include a food and beverage outlet with a 62sq m gross floor area and a shop with 171sq m of gross floor area on the ground floor.

The tower will have 270-degree views.

There will be 201 car parking spaces and 102 spaces for bikes across the ground floor and two basement levels.

The project’s would take a new address—73 Northcote Street. The site is about a 10-minute drive to the CBD, and is on the doorstep of the Gabba, the main stadium venue for the 2032 Olympic Games precinct.

Mosaic plans to start construction towards the end of the year if plans are approved and has also confirmed that the building will be fully electrified.

Mosaic's chief operating officer Marina Vit confirmed that the shopping centre on the site had aleady been demolished.

"We have been active in keeping the local community across our plans and the feedback so far has been really positive," Vit said.

"The site has been quite run down for some time.

"We are working very hard to deliver a result that will do justice to this prominent gateway position while respecting East Brisbane's distinct character."

Mosaic has sold out another East Brisbane development, the two-building, 122-apartment Sinclair on Toohey Street.

The developer has seven new projects set to launch in 2022 across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
