Hong Kong-based developer Polytec Group is moving ahead with plans for an “ultra-luxurious” apartment tower at Chatswood.
After winning concept approval last year, Polytec completed the design competition—Sydney-based architecture firm PBD tipped out competitors with its design for the site at 629-637 Pacific Highway.
The design for the 1185sq m site fronting the Pacific Highway includes a two-storey podium with three shifting pods which are represented as a “cluster of slender tower forms” according to PBD managing director Paul Buljevic.
“Landscape rises up the tower form, de-scaling the tower and presenting a landscape quality to the neighbouring context,” Buljevic said.
“[It morphs] a two-dimensional podium silhouette into a sculptural, programmable landscape deck. The proposal seeks to integrate tower and podium into a cohesive built form.
“The proposal comprises a cluster of slender tower forms, resonating with the podium geometries.”
Polytec Group said it was thrilled to share initial design images of the “ultra-luxurious residential project” for its Chatswood site.
“Polytec Group will keep working collaboratively with our design team and the local authority to tailor every detail of this project with the expression of sophistication, and elegance in the future,” the developer said.
Concept approval for the site comprised a 25-storey tower over a 2-storey podium with provisions for retail and commercial uses on the ground and first floor.
The project will now move to detailed design phase.
