Shining A Light On Solar Energy: France To Install Solar Road Network

France is paving the way for a solar future - literally - after announcing it will install approximately 1,000km of solar roadways across the country.

France's Agency of Environment and Energy Management has approved a joint venture between transport infrastructure company Colas and INES (France's National Institute for Solar Energy) to install the world's first photo voltaic road surface throughout France over the next five years.
