Supersize Apartments Meeting Demand At The Hawthorn Club

1

Sustained market demand for apartments five times bigger than average, featuring the same attention
to detail and dedication to quality as a luxury-appointed home, has spurred developer Manors Gate
Group to reconfigure two floors of its Hawthorn Club project into two supersized apartments.

What was a development of 64 apartments, The Hawthorn Club has come to consist of just 48 dwellings
as a number of owner occupier purchasers chose to consolidate two or three apartments within the
development to create a single bespoke residence.

Identifying a growing trend towards luxury apartment living, with owner occupiers ditching the traditional
quarter acre block in favour of a low-maintenance lifestyle, Manors Gate Group has capitalised on this
opportunity by reconfiguring a number of one bedroom apartments to unveil two exclusive residences.

Bringing together years of experience in this space, the developer has fine-tuned the approach having
now delivered projects in premium suburbs such as Toorak, Camberwell and Balwyn.

Priced from $2.25 million, each of the 200sqm apartments feature four bedrooms, three bathrooms,
generous living spaces, extensive outdoor entertaining areas and captivating vistas of the leafy
Hawthorn surrounds.

One of Melbourne’s most affluent suburbs, Hawthorn offers a full range of amenities, transport,
education, business, retail and recreation services. Set in the midst of the Glen Huntly Road retail strip,
Hawthorn Club establishes a refined presence with the added benefit of a convenient, connected
lifestyle.

“These homes are the height of sophistication with prime elevated positions, opulent interiors and a
comprehensive list of premium quality appointments throughout,” says Manors Gate Group Director
Ricky Phoon.

“What we are seeing is the emergence of a wealthy downsizer market comprising of high-net worth
individuals and couples who are looking to upgrade and replace their empty, family home with a
lifestyle that’s better suited to their current circumstances,” says Phoon.

New data suggests the trend is here to stay, with developers and sales agents alike reporting sales of
off-the-plan apartments in the multi-million-dollar price bracket more than doubling over the past year,
especially in inner-city suburbs such as Toorak, South Yarra and Glen Iris.

“Apartments and penthouses are increasingly becoming the typology of choice with this new breed of
super apartment offering all the lifestyle benefits of a hotel – from both an indulgence and
convenience perspective – on the size and scale of a trophy house and in the same upmarket
location.”

With house-sized proportions, floor-to-ceiling windows, oak timber floors and full height doors, architects
Plus Architecture has created an unparalleled sense of grandeur and openness.

“We chose to blend modern features with natural materials to bring texture and style to each
apartment, which sees the contemporary and the classic perfectly balanced ,” says Plus Architecture’s
Head of Interior Designer, Narelle Cuthbert.

“This sleek, minimalist design aesthic forms the ultimate backdrop for first class entertaining and
provides residents with a sophisticated canvas to build upon and shape according to their own
personal taste,” says Cuthbert.

Seamlessly integrated, these perfectly curated spaces are complemented by a host of stunning
features, which include five star European appliances, beautiful Calacatta stone bench tops and
refined bronze metal detailing.

This attention to detail is carried through the development as a whole with building materials
specifically chosen to match the area’s prestige and tailored to satisfy the discerning tastes of local
owner occupiers, who have, to date, made up the whole purchaser demographic with the projectSet featured image
now 70% sold.
