The Backstory: Why TUD Has Decided to Endorse the APDI’s Property Development Courses

1f585b2d-df88-4f24-9a30-75c85516d3d2

Over the past few months, most of our readers (hopefully!) would have noticed that we have been supporting a marketing campaign by the Applied Property Development Institute (APDI) for property development courses across Australia.

Truth be told, our role has extended beyond the traditional domain of publisher to now a strategic partner in the offering.

So, in order to ensure we maintain trust and accountability with our audience, we wanted to explain why we’ve partnered, and now endorsed, the APDI’s property development courses.

The Backstory: How It All Came To Be.

Ever since we started The Urban Developer, we’ve always identified education and professional development as one of the pillars of our business model.

We had a vision of building an education company that bridged the gap between the industry and tertiary education providers to provide real-world, industry-led learning.

The challenge from our end is that...well, we’re not a university!

We’re an emerging media and events business that has a large audience, but not the resources to invest in developing a curriculum or course content.

And then in late 2017, we received a rather serendipitous advertising enquiry from APDI.

From Sales Prospect to Strategic Partner: How We Evolved the Conversation.

After a few meetings with the APDI team, we realised pretty quickly that we were onto something.

At a high level, we felt an alignment in our passion for a better industry and were confident in the APDI’s ability to execute on their promise.

At a technical level, we were impressed with the full scope of the APDI offering: the quality of the curriculum, the calibre of the presenters, the approach to tech-empowered learning and the flexibility of the framework.

In short, we were sold.

So we proposed a partnership, rather than an advertising deal.

So, How Does the Partnership Work?

Very simply, we receive a proportion of the enrolment fee. For every person that enrols, we receive a clip of the price you pay.

Over time, we feel that we can contribute to the evolution of APDI’s course material by serving as a conduit between the education experts (them) and the broader industry (you)!

So, Why Should You Enrol In APDI’s Courses?

We firmly believe that the APDI’s courses are the best thing out there when it comes to professional learning in the property development sector.

We believe that, by attending APDI’s courses, you are more likely to:

  • Advance your personal career prospects in property

  • Find a new job in the property development sector

  • Enter the property development industry with real learning outcomes

  • Become a better service provider to your property developer clients

  • Get a pay rise by gaining a deeper understanding of the industry

  • Navigate the complexities of property development through real learning and case studies.

For these reasons, and more, we’re delighted to endorse the APDI’s property development courses and encourage you to investigate further.
