$100 Million Brisbane Tatts Headquarters One Step Closer

Impression of the planned $100 million Tatts Headquarters Newstead development.

The new Tatts Group Headquarters in Brisbane has been recommended for approval by the Brisbane City Council's Neighbourhood Planning and Development Assessment Committee.

Tatts Group announced in 2012 they were moving their headquarters from Melbourne to Brisbane's Newstead Riverpark precinct with an $8 million purchase from Watpac in 2013.

The 17-story tower is planned to be developed at 11 Breakfast Creek Road, Newstead, with construction expected to begin next year and be completed by late 2018.

As well as office space the building will include space for a restaurant, a Golden Casket and TAB outlet, and over 200 car and bicycle spaces.

Neighbourhood Planning and Development Assessment Chair councillor Amanda Cooper said the new development would welcome new business opportunities to the area.

“The building’s proposed design will offer an iconic sight for those travelling through the major Breakfast Creek Rd intersection and the ground floor is designed to maintain pedestrian views to the landmark, heritage listed Gasworks Plaza,” said Cr Cooper.

The Brisbane City Council is expected to make its formal approval during their meeting this week.
